Dark Core

The Dark Core is essentially the hard disk of the machine part of Exodus. Every information he got, he stored in there. Most of the information was trivial, like the exact color of the sky at one day, while other information included the inner workings of the planet itself. However, without the daemon part of Exodus, the Dark Core is what it is: an enormous hard disk. The Core looks like a black cylinder, roughly as big as half a man.

It was created by Mondain and Minax, when they created Exodus, and in Ultima III, was surely a part of the machine the party had to destroy. The Dark Core wasn't seen again until Ultima VII on the Isle of Fire. Erethian was studying it to gain power from it, but the Core was trying to re-attach the psyche of Exodus, which was bound in a gargoyle shrine, to it. The Avatar transported it into the Void with the Talisman of Infinity, after Erethian made a last attempt to save it, in which he died, breaking its power once and for all.
