DeSnel

Master DeSnel is a trainer in Jhelom in Ultima VII and leader of the Library of Scars. However, in reality he is the former chief assassin of the Fellowship.

He is modeled after Dallas Snel, the lead programmer of Ultima VII.

DeSnel was the former chief assassin of the Fellowship, but then he trained Hook and Forskis to do that job, and moved to Jhelom, to control the city by being the leader of the Library of Scars, the most-admired fighter guild in the city. He effectively controlled the fighters of Jhelom, keeping them away from being a threat to the Fellowship.

His end came in Ultima VII. The Avatar questioned DeSnel about a special serpentine dagger found at a murder site in Minoc. DeSnel, recognizing the dagger he had given Hook as a gift for completing the training, knew that he was discovered. He then offered the Avatar a "demonstration", then he attacked. In the ensuring battle, he found his death at the hands of the party.

Even a year later, the fighters were shocked by his treachery, as Syria told the Avatar in Ultima Underworld II.
