Harpies

Harpies are the result of pseudo-magical experiments. Basically woman were crossed with birds, resulting in woman with big wings and birdlike feet. Harpies are generally totally nude, and the trauma of the experiments has driven them to madness, while parts of their intelligence still guides them. They prefer to attack their foes with the sharp claws on their feet. This makes them formidable enemies.

Harpies can be found in dungeons as well as in the wilderness, mostly near mountains.

Only seen in Ultima VII and VII/2, the Harpies had no time to change in their looks or demeanor.

[edit] Notable encounters

A group of Harpies had abducted the son of Lady Tory, Ricky, in Ultima VII from Serpent's Hold. It is up to the Avatar to rescue Ricky from the Harpies at the Shrine of Honor and destroy the Harpies.
